The first week in May is nearly upon us, and as A-listers and their teams of style savants ready themselves for the premier fashion event of the year, all eyes are on the Met Gala 2025 guest list.
As in years past, New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art will transform into a fashion-lovers fantasy, as haute couture intersects with history to create the ultimate cultural moment – all in the name of art.
Those invested in the sartorial spectacular that is the Met Gala red carpet know what’s at stake for veterans and up-and-comers alike, and this year’s affair is no exception. From boundary-pushing looks to outfits laced with hidden meanings and breathtaking beauty moments, there’s nothing quite like the allure of a camera-free party to pique our collective interests.
So who can we expect to make an appearance on the iconic steps this year? Below, a list of all the names to note from the Met Gala 2025 guest list.
Who Are The Co-Chairs For Met Gala 2025?

In keeping with tradition, this year’s esteemed group of co-chairs – selected for their undeniable fashion credentials and cultural impact – include Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams, with LeBron James set to make his Met Gala debut as honorary co-chair.
Centred around the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” which corresponds to the Met Costume Institute show guest-curated by Monica Miller, Barnard professor and author of Slaves To Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, this year’s Met Gala will also feature a host committee for the first time since 2019.
Curious about what a co-chair actually does? Here’s everything to know about the prestigious role.
Who’s Going To The Met Gala 2025?
From style icons and A-listers to elite athletes and society mainstays, the Met Gala 2025 guest list is as star-studded as ever.
Colman Domingo

RSVP: Confirmed
As a co-chair, Colman Domingo will be bringing his inimitable style to the steps of the Met once more – and we’ll all be the better for it.
A$AP Rocky & Rihanna

RSVP: Confirmed
A perk of the co-chair role is being guaranteed an elusive plus-one, but if there’s anyone who’s name will never not be on top of the Met Gala guest list, it’s Rhianna – whose own sartorial influence reigns supreme. Lucky for us, we’ll be treated to yet another appearance from this couture-loving couple.
Pharrell Williams

RSVP: Confirmed
Musician, style icon and creative director for Louis Vuitton Menswear, Pharrell Williams’ co-chair chops speak for themselves.
Lewis Hamilton

RSVP: Confirmed
We were thrilled to see our F1 favourite and Ferrari driver, Lewis Hamilton, recognised for his sartorial service as a co-chair at this year’s gala.
LeBron James

RSVP: Confirmed
Marking his first ever Met Gala guest list appearance, LeBron James will be starting strong, playing a key role in the 2025 ceremony as honorary co-chair.
Zendaya

RSVP: Confirmed
As the undeniable queen of the red carpet, Zendaya will be serving Gala glamour at this year’s event, after her creative partner Law Roach confirmed the pair’s attendance back in April.
Ayo Edebiri

RSVP: Confirmed
The Bear actress, Ayo Edebiri, soared to stylish new heights last year, cementing her title as one of Hollywood’s best dressed, so we can’t wait to see what she brings to this year’s event. Plus, as a member of the host committee, she’ll be brining her attire a-game.
Tyla

RSVP: Confirmed
As a standout of last year’s red carpet arrivals, Tyla will be returning to grace us with her presence as part of this year’s host committee.
Simone Biles

RSVP: Confirmed
Olympian Simone Biles is no stranger to the Met Gala red carpet. Having stunned at the 2021 event in a showgirl-inspired Swarovski crystal gown designed by Area, she’s set to take on an elevated role as part of the host committee.
Ariana Grande

RSVP: Confirmed
After dominating method dressing discourse during her extensive Wicked press tour, Met Gala regular Ariana Grande is a sucker for a couture moment, so there’s no way she’s missing out on an invite.
Elle Fanning

RSVP: Confirmed
According to sources with an insight who we can expect to see at this year’s event, Elle Fanning will be taking her (well-earnt) place among the glamorous gala guests. And if last year’s ethereal Balmain number is anything to go by, we can expect nothing less than show-stopping from the Complete Unknown actress.
Sydney Sweeney

RSVP: Confirmed
Joining the gala veterans this year will be returning star, Sydney Sweeney, whose 2024 look turned heads for all the right reasons. Whether she’ll be bringing a plus one is yet to be seen, but here’s hoping a certain Texas native might score a seat alongside her.
Rosé

According to insider information shared on O’fficiel, Blackpink megastar, Rosé, is set to join the Met Gala 2025 guest list, giving the K-Pop fans everything they want, and more. We’re crossing our fingers in the hopes that bandmates Jennie and Lalisa (Lisa) might make a night of it, too.
How Is The Met Gala Guest List Decided?
As with everything Met Gala-related, the final guest list remains under the careful eye of Anna Wintour. According to Amy Odell, author of Anna: The Biography, scoring an invite to the philanthropic event is based solely on Wintour’s perception of the would-be guest’s cultural cachet.
It’s true that most fundraisers rely on the promise of a hefty donation to secure a seat at the society table – but this isn’t the case for fashion’s night of nights. Instead, having your name added to the prestigious list, according to Odell, comes down to a few factors.
“It’s really a huge signifier that you are ‘in,’” Odell said. “And that has implications for certain opportunities that they may get, especially for entertainers and models. If you go to the Met Gala, you’re gonna be in a room with people who are esteemed within the fashion industry or you might find yourself sitting next to a cosmetics executive and the seating plan is designed so that those kinds of conversations can unfold.”
However, in recent years, it’s become clear that having an influential social presence doesn’t exactly hurt a candidate’s chances. Despite the event’s strict no-phones policy inside, there’s still an expectation that guests will do their part in creating buzz.
“The Met Gala is content, right? All these events, including fashion shows and premieres really exist to get sprayed across social media,” said Odell.
“She needs people with online followings and traditional entertainers are not always those people, so you need to have the influencers there. Anna is savvy…every time there’s a TikTok celebrity there or certain influencers, the online peanut gallery has a lot to say and that’s all generating conversation and coverage for the gala.”
