Featuring Taylor Swift tracks “Daylight” from Lover and “Red (Taylor’s Version),” the teaser hints at emotional intensity, complex choices, and the ultimate romantic reckoning. Back to Cousins Beach – But Everything Has Changed

Season Three picks up after the end of Belly’s junior year of college. With her future seemingly set and a summer with Jeremiah on the horizon, the story takes a sharp turn when Conrad – the first boy who stole her heart – re-enters the picture. Belly is now older, wiser, and standing at the intersection of love, identity, and adulthood. Her emotional tug-of-war between Jeremiah and Conrad is more than a love triangle; it’s a metaphor for the woman she’s becoming.

Swift Soundtrack Sets the Mood

It’s not just the romantic stakes that are climbing – Taylor Swift’s inclusion in the teaser soundtrack elevates the emotional weight. Swift’s lyrical storytelling is a fitting companion to Belly’s journey, which touches on first heartbreaks, coming-of-age confusion, and the bittersweet nostalgia of youth slipping away. Whether you’re Team Jeremiah or Team Conrad, the music suggests this season will hit differently.

Jenny Han’s Legacy Continues

Based on the best-selling trilogy by Jenny Han, The Summer I Turned Pretty continues to evolve under her creative direction. Han, who co-showruns the series with Sarah Kucserka, also executive produces alongside Karen Rosenfelt, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen. The series is a co-production of Amazon Studios and wiip, blending commercial polish with heartfelt storytelling.

Han’s influence on young adult romantic storytelling is unrivalled. From To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before to XO, Kitty, she has carved a niche that balances dreamy escapism with real-world emotion. Her work resonates because it feels personal, lived-in, and universally relatable.

From YA Novel to Global Phenomenon

The first season became the #1 show on Prime Video during its launch weekend back in 2022. Season Two doubled that viewership within three days of release. The series resonates with a broad audience thanks to its multi-layered focus: teenage love, complicated family dynamics, and fierce female friendships.

And it’s not just for Gen Z – parents, siblings, and older fans have all found moments to connect with.

What to Expect in Season Three

Expect more than just slow-burn romance. Season Three deepens its exploration of family ties, emotional healing, and the transition from adolescence to adulthood. Belly’s character arc will likely mature in step with her growing independence and the heavier decisions she now faces.

There will be plenty of beach bonfires, soul-searching walks along the sand, and tearful confrontations. But what makes The Summer I Turned Pretty special is its ability to ground all that drama in emotional authenticity. Nothing is ever black and white in Cousins Beach – just sun-soaked shades of grey.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season Three premieres July 16, 2025, only on Prime Video.
