Who Is Christopher Briney’s Girlfriend, Isabel Machado?
TSITP and Mean Girls actor Christopher Briney has been dating his girlfriend, Isabel Machado, since 2021, after graduating college together.
The couple celebrated their one year anniversary in June 2022 – which we know, because Briney posted a heartfelt picture to his Instagram celebrating the fact.
Captioning the post with a sweet throwback image of the two of them in their college years, Briney wrote: “A whole year? I could never want anything else.” But the tributes don’t end there.
If you take a scroll through Briney’s Instagram you’ll see a plethora of candid film photos of his favourite subject: Isabel (and no – that’s not Conklin).
The pair aren’t shy about their relationship either, making a bunch of red carpet appearances together, including at the recent premiere screening for The Summer I Turned Pretty season three.
And while moving from friends to lovers – especially while living together – can be a huge hurdle to overcome, it wasn’t the case for these two, who’ve proven there can be exceptions to the relationship rule.
With such strong foundations, it’s no surprise the couple is still going strong nearly five years on. Which, as Briney recently revealed in an interview with People, is a testament to their healthy dynamic. “We support each other in anything. It doesn’t matter … if it’s a hell yes, it’s a hell yes, and if [one of us] is going to do [something, the other] is going to support you.”
How Did Isabel Machado and Christopher Briney Meet?
The couple met in 2020 when they were both students at Pace University.
Machado moved from Chicago to New York where she connected with Briney over their mutual love of acting and film.
When asked why their relationship works so well in a 2023 interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Machado revealed: “We were roommates first.”
Briney agreed, explaining that it was those foundational years spent living in (very) close quarters that cemented their connection. “We went to college together and we lived together. We knew that we could do it.”
From there, a budding romance blossomed and the rest – as they say – is history.
